Truck-Lite Names Jon Stineman President of U.S. Operations

Erie, PA (January 10, 2023) – Truck-Lite, the worldwide leader in advanced LED lighting systems for commercial trucks, buses, and commercial trailers, has named company veteran Jon Stineman President of its U.S. operations. Stineman most recently served as Senior Vice President of Sales at Clarience Technologies, parent company to Truck-Lite, and will now lead the company at a pivotal time in the industry as electric and autonomous technologies begin to take hold.

“Commercial vehicle lighting is becoming rapidly more electronic, more intelligent and more efficient — a trend that will accelerate as a growing number of commercial fleets embrace electric and autonomous technologies,” said Doug Wolma, President of Clarience Technologies. “Jon’s proven track record of success will ensure Truck-Lite is best prepared to deliver the products customers need, today and tomorrow.”

Stineman has spent the last 24 years of his career at Truck-Lite, beginning as an engineer in 1998 after earning his Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in Industrial Management. Following an overseas assignment at FER in Germany, Stineman later moved into an OEM Sales Manager role in 2006 where he partnered closely with truck manufacturers and subsequently grew the brand. He was later promoted to Sales Director in 2011 with responsibility for trailer, and later body, OEM sales while much of the industry was transitioning to more advanced LED lighting. He was elevated to the position of Vice President, OEM Sales, in 2018 before taking his most recent role at Clarience Technologies in 2021.

“Truck-Lite is an industry leader whose product innovations have repeatedly set the standard for commercial transportation, and we will proudly carry on that legacy,” said Stineman. “I am humbled by the opportunity to lead Truck-Lite at such an important moment in the industry, and I look forward to seeing us advance our product technologies and adapt our business operations to better support both current and future customer needs.”

Stineman will be taking on the top leadership job at Truck-Lite as the company continues to transform itself and adapt to the changing commercial transportation industry. Truck-Lite is no stranger to innovation. The company created the first sealed light over 65 years ago that sparked a revolution in truck and trailer safety lighting and further Truck-Lite product advancements followed, including the first sealed hi-beam/low-beam LED headlight available for commercial vehicles. Today, demand for new innovations has never been greater as electric, autonomous, and connected vehicle technologies reshape commercial transportation. Truck-Lite introduced its “At the Speed of Light” initiative in 2022 to energize company culture as it shifts focus toward products designed to work optimally with these new technologies.

In July 2022, Truck-Lite officially moved its corporate headquarters from its long-time home in Falconer, NY to its new offices at Knowledge Park at Penn State Behrend in Erie, PA. The Penn State Behrend location helps Truck-Lite better align its research and development capabilities with the evolving technology requirements being set by vehicle manufacturers. Truck-Lite believes the future research and development capabilities needed to design components in next-generation electric vehicles will require its workforce to have deeper electrical engineering, software programming and advanced analytics expertise. By relocating its headquarters to Knowledge Park, Truck-Lite leaders can seek outside perspective from university subject matter experts and stay in front of new technology advancements—all while the company strengthens its position as an employer of choice for graduating students.

According to Stineman, the changes happening in transportation industry today are invigorating—and he is excited to get to work.

“There has never been a more exciting time to be in the transportation industry,” said Stineman. “As customers seek partners to help them think differently, now is our time to put our experience to work and create innovations for the next 100 years—it’s our time to shine.” Truck-Lite is owned by Michigan-based Clarience Technologies, a global transportation technology provider whose team of companies include several well-respected names that serve commercial transportation —including Road ReadyTM advanced telematics, DAVCO® diesel filtration, ECCO® safety lighting and warning systems, and Pressure Systems International® tire pressure monitoring and automatic tire inflation systems.
