Josef Newgarden Wins the 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500

Driver's dramatic moves in final lap puts Team Penske -- and the Clarience Technologies name -- in the winner's circle

Indianapolis, Indiana (May 29, 2024) – With rain delays pushing back the start of this year’s race into late afternoon, the over 300,000 fans were more than ready for the start of the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 this past Sunday, and once again the race did not disappoint

Team Penske driver Josef Newgarden, who Clarience Technologies recently announced it was sponsoring for both the Indianapolis 500 and the Detroit Grand Prix, battled right to the very end to clinch his second consecutive Indianapolis 500 victory. The Team Penske driver’s triumph on Sunday was nothing short of spectacular as he outdueled competitors in a nail-biting last-lap pass, making him the first driver to secure back-to-back Indy 500 victories in 22 years. The last time this achievement occurred was when Helio Castroneves achieved the same feat for Team Penske in 2001-02.

The race was won in dramatic fashion, with Newgarden overtaking Pato O’Ward on the final lap, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the last few seconds. For Clarience Technologies, the victory celebration was especially important, as televised close-ups of Newgarden celebrating with his family and the Team Penske crew gave our brand additional exposure on national television, as the Clarience Technologies logo was displayed prominently on the engine cover of the winning NTT Indy Car.

NTT Indy Car now heads north to the Motor City for the running of this year's Detroit Grand Prix.  Tune in to the broadcast on Sunday, June 2nd at 12:30pm Eastern on either USA Network or streaming on Peacock to see if Josef Newgarden will conquer the Motor City and add another chapter to his racing legacy. Buckle up!
