The first Detroit Grand Prix was in 1982 and it started as a Formula One race through the streets of downtown Detroit before becoming a CART-sanctioned race in 1989. The race moved to Belle Isle in 1992 continuing under the CART/Champ Car banner until 2001. After decades on Belle Isle, the 2023 Grand Prix returned to its roots on the Downtown Detroit streets for the first time since 1991.

The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear will return home to the Streets of Downtown Detroit, May 30-June 1, 2025. The event will include the Chevrolet INDYCAR Grand Prix featuring the cars of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, the GTP and the GTD PRO classes of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the rising stars of racing competing in INDY NXT by Firestone. The event is collectively referred to as the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear.

Head Northwest on Trumbell, Turn right on Temple St
Turn right onto W Grand River Ave/Inter State 75 Srv Rd
Turn left onto W Fisher Service Dr
Slight left to merge onto I-75 N
Take exit 51C to merge onto I-375 S toward Downtown
Take I-375 South, exit on Lafayette
Continue on Chrysler Drive past the Greektown Casino parking garage, turn left onto E. Lafayette Street, and continue to Chene Street.
Turn right onto Chene Street and head towards Atwater Street.
Take a right onto Atwater Street, where parking credentials will be checked, and enter the River East Parking Garage.
River East Parking Structure is located at 214 Rivard St, Detroit, MI 48207

The dinner will be at Iridescence on the 16th floor of the Motor City Casino. Dress attire is business casual.

The Detroit Grand Prix's current Downtown street circuit is 1.7 miles (2.74 km) long. It features 9 turns and is located on Jefferson Avenue, Bates Street, Atwater Street, St. Antoine, Franklin Street, and Rivard Street.
