Job Summary
The Director of Operations will be responsible for coordinating, leading and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the production, warehouse, distribution, purchasing, forecasting, technical customer service, and quality teams to ensure that throughput, deliverables, quality, safety objectives, and operations-related business targets are met or exceeded.
Essential Responsibilities and Functions
- Direct and oversee all production execution and planning, facilities and machine maintenance, production process and industrial engineering activities, forecasting, purchasing, warehouse and distribution operations, technical customer service, and quality assurance areas.
- Plan and execute long range capacity needs and daily production schedules.
- Deploy LEAN and 6-Sigma tools in achieving a continuous improvement environment within the product realization cycle; be able to convey and train staff to these same methods and deliver reduced cycle times and the elimination of non-value-add activities.
- Continuously deliver on tangible efficiency improvement and superior service to our customers.
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and technical team members to achieve production, delivery, quality, and safety objectives.
- Coordinate all staffing needs and develop cross-training throughout the manufacturing areas.
- Recommend and/or initiate employment actions such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and corrective/attendance counseling; assist in resolving team member problems, complaints or grievances.
- Collect, analyze, and report production yields and throughput efficiencies using report tools and spreadsheets.
- Budget for departmental expenses and be able to provide financial analysis and ROI calculations for expenditures.
- Develop, write, and control documentation related to work instruction, procedures, or any other pertinent documentation related to the production, material handling, and quality departments.
- Develop proposals describing the problems, solutions, return on investment, and implementation plans.
- Make solid business decisions that meet the needs of the customer and provide a return on investment.
- Develop and maintain a culture where safety is a priority.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of production management experience, preferably in a high-volume electronics manufacturing organization.
- Proven record of being a strong leader that can set the pace for change and get tangible results in a continuous improvement environment.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal; e.g., the ability to prepare, present and discuss plans, requirements, and results, etc. in a team based work environment.
- Experience with implementing Lean Enterprises, using 6 Sigma tools
- Ability to establish self-directed work teams, holding team members accountable, and working regularly to develop team member skill sets.
- Efficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Must be able to work the scheduled hours of the production team with a typical start time of 6:00am Monday-Friday

Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Manager is primarily responsible for understanding customer needs and requirements and developing an effective quality control process to meet customer and market quality objectives. This role reports to the Plant Manager and collaborates closely with other business units, including Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Administration.
Essential Responsibilities and Functions
- Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans, implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identify and resolve problems; complete audits; determine system improvements and implement change
- Lead a group of quality team members to meet company quality objectives to include setting and achieving objectives for continuous improvement of processes and product quality, setting statistically sound inspection and sampling methodologies, providing cost of quality data, and being responsive to customer needs
- Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, product returns, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations
- Produce and distribute supplier NCMR reports as required
- Develop quality assurance plans by conducting quality risk analyses, identifying critical control points and preventive measures, establishing critical control limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures
- Interact with customers on their respective quality objectives, technical issues, non-conformance findings, and business reviews
- Prepare organization for customer product or third-party Quality Management System audits and address non-conformities from previous internal and external audits
- Conduct Management Review of the Quality Management System
- Report to executive management and cross-functional managers on Factory Performance Metrics and methods to improve product and process performance
- Work closely with corporate quality teams to improve consistency and commonality across all corporate divisions
- Meet quality assurance financial objectives by estimating requirements, contributing to the annual budget process, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances
- Develop skill and technical knowledge of quality team members to support continuous improvement, enhanced product quality and to meet regulatory and compliance needs of the organization
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications to Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Quality Assurance; 3+ years of experience managing a team in a manufacturing setting preferred
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001/IATF 16949 Quality Standards and implementation; ISO 9001:2015 QMS Lead Auditor certification or other formal ISO 2015 standards training preferred
- Experience analyzing and preparing data to be able to present to an internal and external audience
- Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and communicate with stakeholders to drive progress and meet project deadlines
- Knowledge and understanding of electronic components and processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization, and with suppliers and customers.
- Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills or other data manipulative and analysis tools
- Data-driven individual
- Ability to travel occasionally as needed
